Prime Steakhouse

It's always a good time. Love to sit on the upper level for a more intimate dining experience. Went there for my anniversary because our usual place was closed for renovation. I may have found a new place to celebrate annually. Dined there previously, and they could accommodate a party of six. Food is always delicious, and service has been impeccable. Love the free parking near the restaurant too. Will definitely be back again!

We were looking for a special place to celebrate our elderly mother's birthday, and after trying three times to get a response for reservations at The Abbey in Valparaiso, I decided to try Prime. Their reservation engine made the process quick and easy, and the restaurant actually called me to answer a question I had asked when I made the reservation. Their responsiveness was refreshing after the non-response I got from the other restaurant, and the positive experience didn't stop there. The staff was extremely friendly and watched over our table to be sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent, served in generous portions at very reasonable prices for a fine dining establishment. Our group of three had the lobster bisque, lake perch, chicken piccata, and grilled shrimp. Everyone raved about their food and talked about what a good decision it was to try Prime. I'm sure we would have had a good dinner and nice experience if we could have gotten into the other restaurant, but we were glad that we ended up at Prime instead, and we will definitely be back! The three stars for atmosphere is only due to our seating location, a small table in a corner by the kitchen. It felt a little cramped and busy, and we got occasional whiffs of cigarette smoke from somewhere in the back. A more comfortable seating situation would have made the evening perfect, but this was a small matter in comparison to everything that was so good about our experience.

Came here to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday; this was my 3rd time here throughout the years In years past I've gotten the ribeye and can say it was the best I've ever had. Tonight however was hit and miss. I ordered the rack of lamb and would give it 8.5 out of 10 stars. 3 people including my wife had the perch and they all said it was overcooked. The kids burgers were huge, but also $12. The house salads were very underwhelming for this kind of restaurant, but the dressings were good. Be careful of what steak you order, it might say $50 on the menu, but if it's dry aged it will cost you $80. Overall, prime has a great atmosphere with prices a little on the high end. Also with a large # of people waiting to be seated, we got the stare down to leave, which was semi understandable, but we had reservations and it was a party.

I can not say enough good things about Prime. The staff is always inviting and so initiative. The atmosphere was festive and makes for an beautiful experience. We went the Saturday before Christmas to celebrate with friends in town and sat at the bar, which is so classy and cheek. Mike, is amazing and I can not give him enough credit that he deserves. We are always welcomed and served with the best smokey cocktails. My favorite this year, was from the holiday drink special and it did not disappoint. We were even cheered with a visit from Santa. Lol We highly recommend Prime steakhouse for any occasion!

Order the king crab legs they came out the size of snow crab. I don’t mind paying 80$ a pound for king crab legs! But they were the size of snow crab legs I feel slighted. Great service! But bad decision to serve after I clarified that I didn’t want a bunch of knuckles and skinny crab legs. All everyone else’s order was on point. Special was great appetizer was great. I was really torn between a 3 and a 4. Haven't been in some time and maybe it was just an off night, but the steaks were unimpressive. They were not terrible, but for the price you should expect a bit more. Service? Excellent. It's always been a small space, but the remodel has opened it up nicely. If you are going to pay for a quality steak locally go to Lighthouse or Gino's.

I dine here regularly; whether it's a special occasion or just to take in the vintage atmosphere or feel the pampering from the owner and the love from the wait staff. Premier experience every single time! I feel like a celebrity every time I dine here. Loyal customer for life! The food is impeccable, prepared with love. Top shelf chefs and homemade dessert tray designed to knock your socks off!!! Returning tonight to celebrate my best friend and I reconnecting and celebrating our 60th birthdays together. Can't wait to feel the love of the restaurant owner and staff! Thank you again for allowing me to share the love on sweetest day!!!
